At JJ Curran Crane, safety is more than a program—it’s a responsibility we bring to every customer, every project, and every lift.
Safe operations begin with experienced people, well-maintained equipment, thorough planning, and a commitment to doing the job the right way. From routine commercial lifts to complex industrial projects, our team approaches every job with the same focus: protecting people, property, and the success of our customers’ projects.
For more than 75 years, that commitment has been the foundation of our reputation throughout Southeast Michigan.
Experienced Operators. Proven Training.
Our operators are among the most highly trained professionals in the industry.
Every JJ Curran operator maintains nationally accredited crane operator certification recognized by OSHA and participates in ongoing training throughout their career. Through Operating Engineers Local 324, our operators complete classroom instruction, written examinations, and practical operating evaluations to maintain the knowledge and skills required to perform lifts safely and professionally.
Experience matters, but continuous training ensures our operators remain prepared for the changing demands of today’s jobsites.
Safety Training & Jobsite Compliance
Every jobsite presents unique challenges and safety requirements.
JJ Curran participates in the MUST Safety Program, providing standardized drug and alcohol testing, safety awareness training, and education based on OSHA best practices. In addition, our employees routinely complete customer-specific orientation and compliance programs required by manufacturing facilities, utilities, refineries, commercial construction sites, and other safety-sensitive environments.
Before work begins, our crews are prepared to meet each customer’s site requirements so projects can move forward safely and efficiently.
Technology That Supports Safe Operations
Safety doesn’t end when training is complete.
JJ Curran uses modern fleet and operational technology to support safe, consistent execution in the field. Digital inspection records, preventative maintenance scheduling, electronic documentation, operator qualification tracking, and job documentation provide accountability throughout every project.
By maintaining complete visibility into our equipment and operations, we help ensure every crane is properly maintained, every inspection is documented, and every job is supported by accurate information.
A Culture of Safety
Safety is built through consistency.
It is reflected in the decisions our operators make before a lift begins, the condition of our equipment when it arrives on site, the preparation that goes into every project, and the accountability we bring to every customer.
That commitment has earned JJ Curran industry recognition for safety performance and operator excellence over many years. More importantly, it has earned the trust of customers who depend on us to perform critical lifts safely, reliably, and professionally.
